Sequential Sixtrak

I bought my very first analogue synth. The Pulse wave sounds amazingly "fat" and it has some beating, I love the sound of beating.
(mind you I'm only used to hearing Romplers & Virtual analogues).

First I was thinking about buying the Prophet 08', but the pots felt so cheapo and there was a serious problem with the rotary encoders (turning them fast made the values go berserk) <-- I never had the chance to test the prophet 08' PE edition, I think they solved a part of the problem there.

I connected it to a CONTROL FREAK LIVE from Kenton, uploaded some sixtrak Programs into it and now I can control every parameter. I foudn out I had to hit RECORD(from the parameter section) + 4 to make it listen to midi messages.

A midi controller is a must have for this synth, otherwise the programming is a pain in the ass.

SDIY Living VCO's

My Juergen Haible Living VCO is finally working. It was my first SDIY (synth do it yourself :-) ) project. It's sounds is FAT especially when you start using the linear detuning. Think EMS-Synthi or Yamaha CS-80.

Just have to make a EURORACK frontpanel for it now...

Creation of my blog

I'm so busy with synthesizers & electronic music the last years I decided to create this blog.

Will mainly use it to store handy info and as a diary for ongoing projects.

I chose the name jupiter8K (obviously derived from Roland JP-8000), cause this was the first synthesizer I got from my mom when I was 16 years old.
It infected with THE synthesizer virus.
Until now there's no cure, so I'm doomed to be busy with synths all my life :p .
